CPA Foundational Development
Prepare for the next step in your accounting career. This capstone course brings together financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, and corporate finance through complex, multi‑issue business cases. You’ll strengthen your analytical reasoning, professional writing, and presentation skills while working through scenarios aligned with the CPA Competency Map.
*This course can be used to meet the requirements of the Accounting concentration and is strongly recommended for students pursuing the CPA designation. Corequisites: All of COMM_O 354, 355, 370, 453, and 455 (or MGMT_O equivalents).

Women in Leadership

This course examines the experiences of women in leadership across organizations and society, exploring the structural and cultural forces that shape leadership journeys. Through research, case studies, and reflective practice, you’ll analyze gender dynamics, negotiation, and organizational climate while developing your own leadership identity.
*This course is open to all fourth-year Commerce students. This course can be used to meet the requirements of the OBHR concentration.

ENGR_O 411
Technology Entrepreneurship
Turn innovative ideas into viable ventures. This course introduces the fundamentals of technology entrepreneurship, including business models, customer development, intellectual property, product design, and market validation. You’ll test assumptions, refine value propositions, and position a technology‑driven business for success. A great option for students interested in startups, innovation, or cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
*This course is open for Commerce students and can be used as an upper-level non-COMM_O elective.
Students who have transferred from the Bachelor of Management (BMgt) program into the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) may apply to replace 3 credits of non‑commerce electives with an upper‑level (300‑ or 400‑level) COMM_O elective.
