The Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources (OBHR) option offers a strong foundation in core business principles, exposure to all major business disciplines, and the development of key management and consulting skills to help you thrive in people-focused roles.

Students Tracking Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation

The OBHR concentration is accredited with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) British Columbia and Yukon and graduates may be exempt from writing the National Knowledge Exam® (NKE), following accreditation path 3. The NKE is the first step to achieving the nationally recognized CPHR designation.

To be eligible for an exemption, students in the OBHR concentration must:

  1. achieve a grade point average of 70%;
  2. complete the Bachelor of Commerce degree with a concentration in Organization Behaviour and Human Resources;
  3. complete COMM_O 324 – People Analytics (this course can be completed as part of your OBHR concentration or as an additional upper-level COMM_O elective);
  4. become a member of CPHR BC & Yukon while still a student*; and
  5. apply for an exemption within 5 years of the date of graduation.

Note: Graduates can save 25% off the exam exemption fee if they apply within 12 months of graduation.
