Registration Information

This information is intended for all current and incoming Bachelor of Management (BMgt) students. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Faculty of Management’s Academic Programs Office (APO).

Registration Appointment

You will receive an email to let you know when your registration appointment is viewable in Workday. Your date and time may change, check Workday regularly for up-to-date registration information.

Registration changes can be made any time between your registration open date and the course withdrawal date. Learn how to view your registration appointment in Workday. You can begin creating saved schedules in Workday, where you can plan out your classes for the upcoming academic session in preparation for registration.

You must register your saved schedules for Term 1 and Term 2 separately. When you are building your Term 2 saved schedule you may get alerts that you are not eligible for some courses. This may be because you have the prerequisites on your Term 1 saved schedule. Once you register in your Term 1 courses, you will be able to register for Term 2.

Course Planning

Students commonly register in four to six courses per term (12 – 16 credits). Please note anything above this is considered a very heavy course load. If you are considering registering in more than 16 credits, we strongly recommend speaking with an Academic and Career Advisor.

Important Considerations for September 2025

The Faculty of Management is introducing a new undergraduate degree, the Bachelor of Commerce. The Bachelor of Commerce is a four-year, 122-credit, in-person degree program. The Faculty of Management is introducing the Bachelor of Commerce degree to better meet student desires, including offering specific concentrations that will be reflected on student parchments and transcripts. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree will replace the Faculty’s existing Bachelor of Management (BMgt) degree.

All current Bachelor of Management (BMgt) students, including those starting in September 2025, can choose to transfer to the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) program later in the fall or to remain in the Bachelor of Management (BMgt) program. The Faculty of Management will ensure that students are able to graduate from their program of choice, whether they remain in the BMgt program or choose to transfer to the BCom program.

Students are encouraged to check that they are meeting prerequisite and corequisite requirements for their courses as soon as possible. There are different program requirements and course prerequisite requirements for students tracking to the BCom program.

Students interested in transferring to the BCom are encouraged to complete the BCom Expression of Interest form, review the BCom Course Planning Guide, and meet with an Academic and Career Advisor or the Faculty of Management.

COMM_O and MGMT_O courses can be used to meet COMM_O or MGMT_O requirements in the Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Management programs. COMM_O and MGMT_O courses cannot be used to fulfill non-COMM_O or non-MGMT_O course requirements.

Below, we have outlined course registration recommendations for both the current BMgt program and the upcoming BCom program. Please ensure you plan your registration based on your intended program.

Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)

It is recommended that Year 1 students planning to transfer to the BCom program review the course planning recommendations below in conjunction with the BCom Course Planning Worksheet to aid in course planning for the 2025-26 Winter session. • ANTH-O 100 – Introduction to Cultural Anthropology
  • CULT-O 100 – Media and Popular Culture in Global Context
  • ENGL_O 1xx – any additional first-year English course

The recommendations below are broken down by term, taking important prerequisite and corequisite requirements into account.

2025-26 Winter Session, Term 1 (Sept – Dec) 2025-26 Winter Session, Term 2 (Jan – Apr)

The following seven 200-level courses are required for your degree, and we recommend that you complete them in the second year of your program.

2025-26 Winter Session, Term 1 (Sept – Dec) 2025-26 Winter Session, Term 2 (Jan – Apr)

*Year 2 BMgt students who have successfully completed MGMT_O 100, MGMT_O 110, and 3 credits of ENGL_O will receive a prerequisite waiver allowing them to register for COMM_O 398 without meeting the third-year standing requirement.

BMgt degree students who have not already completed all BMgt Year 1 core courses, are strongly encouraged to prioritize these. Year 1 core courses, alone or in combination, make up the prerequisites for 200-level core courses.
