Concentration in General Business Management

Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)

General Business Management requires a broad understanding of key business functions such as marketing, sales, accounting, human resources, finance, and logistics. It also calls for strong leadership skills, the ability to inspire teams, drive revenue growth, and manage costs effectively.

Course Requirements

 

15 credits of 300- and 400-level COMM_O* or MGMT_ O* courses:

  • 9 credits of 300- or 400-level COMM_O* or MGMT_O* courses
  • 6 credits of 400-level COMM_O* or MGMT_O* courses

In keeping with the generalist nature of this major, it is recommended that students take no more than 9 credits in any concentration area.

*Commerce or Management courses taken to fulfill BCom core requirements cannot be double-counted toward General Business Management major requirements.

Understanding your electives

27 elective credits must be non-COMM_O or non-MGMT_O
  • A minimum of 12 credits of these credits must be at the 300- or 400-level
24 elective credits must be COMM_O or MGMT_O
  • All of these credits must be at the 300- or 400-level
  • 15 credits of these electives will be applied to an approved concentration
3 credits can be COMM_O or MGMT_O or non-COMM_O or non-MGMT_O at any level
