We also hire faculty into term appointments for a specified period of time for courses taught in the Faculty of Management. Sessional lecturers teach and/or perform related duties, including course coordination or lab supervision for a period of less than 12 months.

The expected pay for this position is $8,000 per month 

Sessional Lecturer Position in Finance at University of British Columbia  

The University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Management, located at the Okanagan campus, invites applications for a Sessional instructor position to teach the following course during Term 1 of the 2025-26 academic year.  

Winter Term 2 (January 1 – April 30, 2026)  

  • MGMT 355 (3) Operations Management – 2 Sections 

Introduction to the strategic and tactical decisions of operations management as it applies to both service and manufacturing sectors. Topics include process and technology choice, process flow, layout of facilities, capacity and resource planning, inventory control, lean systems, quality management, and quality control. 

A PhD in Business or Management is preferred.  A master’s degree in management or related fields is required.  The candidate will have a broad knowledge of business and management subjects, including leadership, and have demonstrated excellence in teaching. The candidate would ideally have relevant and extensive working experience in operations management, supply chain management, or operations research.  

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in and commitment to undergraduate teaching, ability to work independently, effective communication skills, the promise of educational development, and proven potential for creating innovative instructional environments in the undergraduate classroom for management/business students. Experience in curriculum development, course design, and other initiatives that advance the University’s ability to excel in its teaching and learning mandate is also an asset.
