We also hire faculty into term appointments for a specified period of time for courses taught in the Faculty of Management. Sessional lecturers teach and/or perform related duties, including course coordination or lab supervision for a period of less than 12 months.

 Sessional Lecturer Position in Management and Organizational Behaviour at University of British Columbia  

 The University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Management, located at the Okanagan campus, invites applications for a Sessional instructor position to teach the following course during Summer Term 1 of the 2026-2027 academic year.  

 Summer Term 1 (May 11 – June 30, 2026)  

 COMM 192 (3.0) Management and Organizational Behaviour (6 hours/week) 

Behaviour in organizations as it affects people as individuals, their relationships with others, their performance in groups and their effectiveness at work. Approximate class size: 50 students. Scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. 

 A PhD in business or a related field is preferred. A master’s degree in business or related fields is required. The successful candidate will possess broad knowledge of business and management disciplines, with comprehensive expertise in organizational behavior, performance management, and relationships within organizations. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is required, and relevant professional experience in these areas is considered an asset. 

 The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in and commitment to undergraduate teaching, ability to work independently, effective communication skills, the promise of educational development, and proven potential for creating innovative instructional environments in the undergraduate classroom for management/business students. Experience in curriculum development, course design, and other initiatives that advance the University’s ability to excel in its teaching and learning mandate is also an asset.

This course introduces key concepts underlying business ethics. Students will develop skills for leading organizations while better managing values. The course will cover numerous approaches to ethical analysis and decision making and will emphasize integrated ethical thinking and decision-making through case studies and applied exercises. Approximate class size: 60 students. Scheduled on Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. 

 A PhD in Management or related field is preferred. A master’s degree in management or related fields is required. Experience in professional graduate teaching is preferred. The successful candidate will possess broad knowledge of business and management disciplines, with comprehensive expertise in human resources management and strategic staffing. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is required, and relevant professional experience in these areas is considered an asset.

 MGMT 525 (3.0) Supply Chain Management (6 hours/week) 

This course introduces key concepts, tools, and challenges in managing supply chains. Students will explore how firms design, coordinate, and optimize supply chains. Topics include supply chain strategy, risk management, sustainability, logistics, and technologies. This course emphasizes integrated thinking and decision-making through case studies and applied exercises. Approximate class size: 60 students. Scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Introduction to decision models in business, including basic optimization, linear programming, probability, decision analysis, random variables, simulation, and solving decision problems using spreadsheet tools. Approximate class size: 50 students.
