Find out how to create your account, post jobs, host events and find candidates.

Go to the Business Career Hub

New here? Create your account, then post a job. About 15 minutes for both.

Having trouble? Report the issue to our team.

The Business Career Hub is powered by 12twenty and managed by the Faculty of Management’s Student Development Centre.

Create your account

Time: About five minutes. · Who can see it: Students, if you choose to be visible to them, and staff.
  1. Go to the career hub
Go to ubcmanagement.12twenty.com/hire and press Sign up for an account.
  2. Enter your details
Fill in the fields for your name, work email, organization and role. Use your work email. That is how we verify your organization.
  3. Add your organization profile
Add your description, logo, website and contact details. Students see this before they apply and before they come to your events.
  4. Start posting
There is no approval step for your account. You can submit job postings and event requests the day you create it. What gets reviewed is the posting or the event itself, not you.

Post a job

Time: About 10 minutes. · Who can see it: Faculty of Management students and recent graduates; you decide which groups.

Before you start

Make sure you know the following:

  • Job title and a clear description of the role
  • Employment type and location
  • Salary or pay range. Required—see pay transparency below.
  • Application deadline
  • How you want to receive applications

Post a job

  1. Navigate to job postings
Navigate to the job postings module in the main menu.
  2. Create the posting
Press + Post a Job and fill in these fields: job title, organization, employment type, location, salary or pay range, application deadline.
  3. Choose how students apply
Accept applications in the career hub, send students to your own site or take them by email. Pick at least one.
  4. Review and publish
Review your posting, check the details and press Submit. Not quite ready? Save it as a draft to submit later.

Pay transparency

Your posting must include expected pay or pay range, as required under BC’s Pay Transparency Act as of November 1, 2023.

What happens next

Every posting is reviewed by the Student Development Centre before students see it. Most are reviewed within one to two business days. If it’s ready to go, we approve it. If it needs anything, we’ll tell you what.

Once it’s live, you’ll see applications as they come in. You can track where each applicant stands—shortlisted, interviewed, hired—so your record stays in one place.

Interviews happen outside the career hub. You run them your way, and our team helps with the logistics: booking a room on campus or setting up a virtual session.

Post a co-op role

Time: About 10 minutes. · Who can see it: Business Co-op students

This form is the same as for job postings, but the results appear to students in a co-op job board. It’s only visible to students enrolled in Business Co-op. This ensures that only pre-screened, eligible students can see and apply.

From the job postings module (step 1 of posting a job), press + Post a Co-op from the top right. The form will then ask you for work term dates and confirm the time commitment.

Before you post: Make sure your work-term length, minimum hours, employment type and the recruiting cycle are meeting the criteria for co-op. It’s worth reading once if this is your first co-op posting. Wage subsidies are on that page too.

If your organization calls these roles internships, you’re still in the right place. A co-op is a paid, temporary, entry-level role coordinated by UBC Okanagan.

Host an event

Time: Posting takes about 10 minutes. · Who can see it: Faculty of Management students and recent graduates; you decide which groups.

Meet students directly. Events are the fastest way to build recognition before you start recruiting. Students who have already met you submit better applications.

Lead time: If you would like to host on campus or cohost with our Faculty, submit your request at least four weeks before your preferred date. Cross-posted events can be submitted whenever.

Types of event

  • Partner Presentation or Recruitment: A structured presentation about your organization, your roles and how you hire. Industry lectures fall into this category as well.
  • Mixer or Social: Casual networking between students and your team.
  • Workshop or Skill Building: Teach something. Host a hands-on session where students build a skill you actually use at work.
  • General: Everything else. This category is for panels, activities and sessions that don’t fit the types above.

Note: You’ll pick one of these four event types when you submit your request. Other event types exist on our calendar—those are the ones we invite employers to.

Host your event

  1. Navigate to events
Navigate to the events module in the side menu.
  2. Press + Host an Event
  3. Complete the event request form
Title and type · date and time · dress code · description and audience · speakers · registration requirements.
  4. Submit for review
Our Career Development team reviews every request. Once approved—and depending on the date you’ve set it to go live—your event is published to students in the career hub.

Not ready to submit your posting yet? Save it as a draft to submit later.

Join an event by invitation

We run signature events like our Business Connections series throughout the year, and we invite employers to take part. Email fom.bcom@ubc.ca and tell us what kind of event fits your goals.

Note: Employers are not able to self-register for Faculty events. We curate the employer list for each one so students get a good mix.

Search for candidates

Time: Filtering for the right group can take less than a minute.
  1. Navigate to the Candidates tab
Navigate to Candidates in the main menu.
  2. Request access
Press Request Access. Our team reviews requests and will be in touch.
  3. Search
Once approved, you can filter by program, graduation year and area of study.
  4. Review resumes
View resumes one at a time or select multiple students and download them in bulk.

Note: You can only see students who have opted to appear in search. The pool grows as more students complete their profiles.
