Biography

Ms Webster joined the Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus in 2008. Since her initial contract to develop curriculum and teach MGMT360, her teaching workload has increased, such that she now teaches fulltime across all levels of the management program. Previously, Norine taught marketing and strategic management at University of Phoenix, Meritus University and British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). In her role of instructor, Norine believes strongly in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

As an independent consultant, Norine has assisted small and large companies with business planning and marketing strategies, new product introductions, e-commerce applications and project management. Most recently, she has been working with the BC Women’s Enterprise Center helping women entrepreneurs develop business plans and improve their marketing tactics. Norine has also worked in both the telecommunications and forestry industries, where she successfully launched a number of new products. Her practical approach and extensive experience is reflected in all of her classes.

Outside of teaching, Norine currently enjoys golf, gardening, skiing, and meditation. When time and opportunity permits, other passions include ballroom dancing, scuba diving (in tropical waters), and costuming for film and theatre. Norine has travelled extensively, including leading treks into Nepal.
