Bachelor of Management changes
The Bachelor of Management program is evolving, with a revised delivery of the program to come into effect for incoming first-year students starting in September 2017 and thereafter. Current students will not be affected, nor will any students beginning their program before September 2017.
What is changing?
In April 2016, the UBC Okanagan Senate passed the Faculty of Management's proposal to spread the management course-load evenly over four years, rather than concentrating the courses in the last two years of the program. The fundamentals of the management program will remain the same.
NOTE: The revised delivery of the program will come into effect for incoming first-year students starting in September 2017 and thereafter. Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Management prior to 2017 will continue with the current program.
Why is this proposed?
The aim of this change is to increase the exposure of students to management courses earlier in their academic careers. This will benefit students through the experience of greater inclusion in the Faculty, and deepen their understanding of the subject matter.

The Faculty of Management held a widespread consultation on the proposal throughout the month of March 2016, inviting current students, alumni and community members to provide input. This yielded many responses through our in-person Open Doors sessions and online survey. Read the “What We Heard” report, which features a summary of consultation outcomes.
